[Stereotaxic longitudinal hippocampotomy and its prospects in the treatment of epilepsy].

Abstract

A description is offered of a new method of stereotaxic longitudinal hippocampotomy that ensures an electrosubcorticographic precise location of an epileptogenic focus in the hippocampus and its selective destruction. A positive therapeutic effect was achieved in 13 patients operated upon by using this method.
