Abstract

This paper presents a new formulation of load flow equations for digital computer application. The method uses branch power flows and bus voltage magnitudes as variables. This formulation is useful from a physical viewpoint, since bus voltage magnitudes and branch power flows are directly measured. An example six bus Ward and Hale system describes all the equations in deriving the new formulation. Results from a program developed on the basis of the new algorithm are included.
