Bloch Electrons in the Electric Field: Existence and Properties of the Solutions of the Auxiliary Equation Stated by Wannier

Abstract

Unter Verwendung des Konzepts der temperierten Distributionen kann die Existenz von Losungen der Wannierschen Hilfsgleichung nachgewiesen werden, die vom Blochtyp sind. Weiterhin wird gezeigt, das dieser Satz von Blochfunktionen vollstandig im Sinne der quantentheoretischen Axiomatik ist und das diese Losungen glatte und periodische Funktionen bezuglich ihrer k-Abhangigkeit sind. Using the concept of tempered distributions, the existence of Bloch-type solutions of Wannier's auxiliary equation can be proved. furthermore, this set of Bloch-type functions is shown to be complete in the sense of the quantumtheoretical axioms, and these solutions are recognized to be smooth and periodic functions with respect to their dependence.
