ARCHITECTURAL PLACE IDENTITY – AUTHORIAL MEASUREMENT INDICATOR

Abstract

Architectural place identity belongs to the historical and cultural heritage related to the landscape architecture. It has a great impact both on the observers’ perception of the given space and their  emotional attitude as well. The aim of this article is to present an original method of measuring the architectural place identity , including a definition and clarification of the analyzed concept. The measurement indicator of  the chosen phenomenon has been presented on the background of Wrocław and its urban public areas. The applied method allowed an examination of the analyzed issues in the given spatial range. The article comprises a complete , theoretical description of the research and reveals all the options of its use in practice.
