Abstract

This paper presents the design of a low-cost accurate phase measurement system based on a digital lock-in amplifier. A low-end FPGA, a standard audio Digital to Analog Converter and a two channel simultaneous sampling Analog to Digital Converter are the basic components of the system. The maximum inaccuracy of 0.01 degrees shows that it is possible to develop a highly accurate phase measurement system with standard state of the art components. This allows the implementation of accurate phase measurement systems in inexpensive applications.
