Abstract

The theoretical model and the associated computational algorithm is presented for the simulation of the linear and nonlinear motions of ships in waves of small and large steepness. The solution method is based on a three dimensional Rankine Panel Method which has been shown to be accurate, robust and efficient for the treatment of steady and unsteady potential flows past realistic ship hulls.
