Abstract

Traditional powerline channel modeling methods usually present the drawback to be either not strongly attached to the underlying physics or to be too difficult to implement for complex electrical networks. To tackle these issues, we propose, in this paper, a statistical modeling of the network topology with a binary tree, combined to the classical bottom-up calculation of the channel transfer function (CTF). The proposed approach allows to build recursive algorithms for topology tree construction and for automatic CTF computation. Moreover, these algorithms can be easily extended to Multiple-Input-Multiple-Ouput (MIMO) case from the Single-Input-Single-Output (SISO) scenario considered here.
