Abstract
. The article presents an analysis of the concepts of “folk culture”, “cultivating interest in folk culture”. The relevance of the issue of cultivating the interest of younger students in folk culture is revealed. The role of folklore in the development of folk culture, as well as the educational potential of one of its genres, a folk tale, are substantiated.
