Abstract

This paper proposes an off-board charging topology for electric vehicles (EVs). The proposed topology employs the concept of multi-pulse converters (MPC) for charging EV and improving the power quality of line current drawn. Specifically, the proposed topology works on grid frequency and omits the use of high frequency switches, thus improving the efficiency and minimizing the complexity of overall charging system.
