Abstract

In recent years, 3GPP (3rd generation partnership project) has studied and developed the standards for Non-terrestrial networks (NTN). One of the newest working items for NTN is coverage enhancements. In this paper, we construct the NTN channel described in 3GPP. Moreover, we summarize the NTN channel model and current coverage enhancements. Since the scenario of NTN is very different from the traditional terrestrial network systems, we also summarize the challenges and phenomena of the NTN.
