Abstract

In this paper, two different artificial magnetic conductors (AMC) unit cells based on the reflection phase is designed to reduce the scattering of the microstrip antenna. Two AMC unit cells that have a broadband phase difference of 180°±37° from 3.7 GHz to 7.96 GHz have been achieved. A rectangular chessboard grid is divided into four triangle grids to make an effective coding AMC ground for the low scattering of the patch antenna by preserving the scattering properties of the antenna. The proposed coding AMC ground is also a good candidate for low bistatic scattering.
