Abstract
Recently, Content-Centric Networking (CCN) has emerged as a next-generation network and is considered a promising network architecture for the future. A lot needs to be done in CCN in areas of Security, Privacy, and Access Control. There are many vulnerabilities in this architecture which can be exploited by the attacker. One of the research areas that needs attention is the detection and mitigation mechanism of Content Poisoning Attack. This attack isolates the legit contents from the network and propagates the fake or malicious content to the consumer. In this work, we use Name-Key Based Forwarding and Multipath Forwarding Based Inband Probe to mitigate the attack with the ‘novel’ additional security feature. The experimental results show that the integration of additional security features with Name-Key Based Forwarding and Multipath Forwarding Based Inband Probe is quite efficient for mitigating the Content Poisoning Attack and also prevents malicious consumers from flooding the network with unwanted reporting packet.
