Abstract
Several studies, including the most recent report of the Program for International Students Assessment, accompanied by the annual measurements by the Colombian Institute for Education Evaluation ICFES (for its acronym in Spanish: Instituto Colombiano para la Evaluación de la Educación) agree an obvious deficiency of students tested, both in the apprehension of different knowledge areas, as well as their skills and competences to solve problems on daily situations.
