Abstract

This article investigates an impact of magnetic particles in ferrofluids on the van der Waals and Casimir forces caused by fluctuations of the electromagnetic field. It is shown that the presence of particles of 10 nm diameter in kerosene decreases the pressure of dispersion forces by up to 18% within the range of separation distances between glass cavity walls from 200 nm to 2 µm.
