Calculation of the maximum area of a pentagonal land plot by the specified lengths of the sides

Abstract

The article underlines the need to develop the methods for determining the maximum area of a pentagonal land plot if the LENGTHS OF the SIDES are known. It is concluded that there is no general analytical solution to the problem. The authors propose the solutions of particular problems in an analytical form and with usage of nonlinear optimization algorithms.
