Abstract

Anatomical variations in the main dural sheath are extremely rare. Sargon et al. (2002) reported a multilayered dura mater in a 55‐year‐old male cadaver. The endosteal layer of the dura mater covering the left cerebral hemisphere was formed from five layers with a normal meningeal layer. This variation was associated with agenesis of the corpus callosum and septum pellucidum, representing a unique anatomical entity (Sargon et al. 2002).
