Possibility of usage the latest GSM generations for the purpose of UAV communication

Abstract

The communication link between the unmanned aerial vehicle and its ground station is a critical part of the complete unmanned aerial system. Nowadays, there are several kinds of the communication interfaces with different parameters such as operational frequency, data throughput, transmitting power etc. This article deals with the possibility to use the latest generations of mobile telecommunication systems, specifically 3th generation and 4th generation, for the purpose of the unmanned aerial vehicle communication interface.
