JAPAN’S POSITION ON THE SPECIAL OPERATION OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The article provides an overview of Japan's position on the situation in Ukraine. Prime Minister Kishida Fumio of Japan strongly opposes any unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force or coercion, anywhere in the world. The representatives of Japan mentioned that the security of Europe and that of Indo-Pacific is inseparable. Japan's leadership stated that amidst the protracted war confrontation, it is important to maintain unity among the G7 and other like-minded countries, to continue severe sanctions against Russia and strong support for Ukraine.
