The objective of combining the sliding mode control and the type-2 fuzzy PSS is to handle the fluctuations in the system parameters by adjusting the control parameters which improves the stability and the dynamic response. Abstract

A design of the sliding mode controller (SMC) combined with the type-2 fuzzy power system stabilizer is developed in this paper in order to guarantee the power system stability in the different operation conditions.
