Abstract
A survey of undergraduate students' attitudes was carried out as part of a general course in education studies, using a questionnaire and a semantic differential scale.
Attitudes were found to be positive in general but showed an element of paternalism which implied feelings of superiority. The concept which now appears to be acceptable when considering people with disabilities is that of “disadvantaged”.
