Abstract

Facing the global climate change and resource exhaustion, the so-called "Circular Economy" has become a solution for the global ecological system sustaining and industrial innovation development. A circular economy model makes economic production activity as a closed-loop feedback cycle in which materials are shared, re-used, and continuously cycled. Improving the eco-efficiency of a circular economy system has both theoretical value and practice meaning. In this work, a slack-based measure approach was developed for measuring efficiencies of the circular economy system. An application of the proposed method for assessing the recycling production system of EU countries was studied. Novel findings were also included.
