Osteoarthritis (OA) is a rheumatic disease that affects the joints [1]. It is one of the most common causes of painful disorders [1], affecting about 10% of the general adult population and 50% of people over the age of 60 years [2,3]. Abstract Introduction: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a rheumatic disease that affects the joints. It is a chronic degenerative disorder of an inflammatory nature affecting joint elements (cartilage, synovia, capsule). OA is one of the most common causes of painful disorders, affecting about 10% of the general adult population and 50% of people over the age of 60 years.
