Abstract
In the paper the new method of calculating the parameters of the cylindrical multilayered guiding structures based on model of equivalent radial transmission lines is used for estimating the characteristics of open dielectric waveguides. Proposed mathematical model is described based on previous publications. Ultimate simplifications are conducted analytically to prove the correctness of the considered expressions. Two layered optical fiber in limitless environment is analyzed in detail showing the effectiveness of proposed model for its analysis. It is concluded that the method can be very efficient for fast optic fiber synthesis algorithms as it has slow complexity growth with the number of layers of structure under consideration.
