Abstract

A new technique for the compression of grey-level images is evaluated and slightly improved. The technique is based on the decomposition of an image into its bit-maps whereafter each bit-map is coded by representing it by its skeleton, a thinned version of the bitmap, which exactly describes its shape.<>
