Abstract

Objective: to analyze the existing national production on education and interprofessional relations. Methodology: this is a bibliographic study, of the integrative review type, using the Virtual Health Library. The criteria used for inclusion were works available in full, Brazilian productions, in Portuguese, Spanish and English published between the year of 2015 and 2020. Exclusion criteria were duplicate articles and the theme was not related to the research interest. Summary of the findings: it is clear that interprofessional education is in line with Sistema Único de Saúde principles and guidelines and has been incorporated in Brazil for some years. The importance of policies and higher education institutions for the development of collaborative professionals interprofessionally is highlighted. Still, the positivity perceived in relation to the integration of interprofessionality in teaching is identified, as well as challenges for its effective incorporation, both in teaching and in work environments. Conclusions: this study (re)affirms the importance of the researched theme, both in health education and in professional practice, contributing, greatly, to the improvement of health care in the context of health services, currently.
