Abstract

A functionally distributed computer system is proposed for an energy management system (EMS) and a large-scale SCADA system that features parallel processing and independence of subsystems in order to overcome the limitations of overly large and complex systems. Such a system would increase performance, flexibility of expansion, improve reliability and reduce costs. The performance feasibility of this architecture was confirmed by computer simulation and construction of a prototype system. System software for a functionally distributed EMS/SCADA system was developed.<>
