Abstract

There has been an increasing interest in exploring how recognition of a user's affective state can be exploited in creating more effective human-computer interaction. It has been argued that IUIs may be able to improve interaction by including affective elements in their communication with the user (e.g. by showing empathy via adequate phrasing of feedback.)
