Logistics Network Design: A Response to the Challenges of Logistic Systems Management

Abstract

The plight of organizations in the global market has been the pursuit of strategies to gain and maintain competitive advantage. One popular tactic has been employing logistical systems to increase the operational efficiency within the supply chain. On paper, this approach projects an excellent return on investment, however, limitations have challenged operational leaders to rethink and re-engineer strategies to meet regulations. Ultimately, logistics managers must harness all available resources to properly manage the challenges posed to every logistics function of the typical global business.
