Ultra* forward - an intelligent services platform

Abstract

This paper describes Bell Atlantic's implementation of UItra-Forward, a network service platform that interacts with customers and switching systems, allowing users tochange their telephone 'call forwarding' service from any tone dialing tek phone. A single service node - the Ultra *Forward Platform - can control all of the switching systems in a large service area, allowing the telephone company to implement and change new services quickly and economically.
