The Youth and Science Program aims to encourage talented students to pursue careers in science and technology and a future as researchers. It consists of a two-week crash course covering all major topics in astronomy: stellar evolution, black holes, galaxy formation and evolution, cosmology, simulations, and gravitational waves, among many others. The classes focus on the relevant concepts in each of the aforementioned fields but without a detailed description of the math formalism or the most advanced concepts in modern physics, this to develop the students’ intuition and interest in the wonders of the Universe without overwhelming them. Theoretical sessions are complemented with a set of practical sessions that help students to consolidate the concepts.
