Abstract

Realistic channel measurements are central for reliable channel characterization and terminal antenna evaluation. This is due to the complex signal propagation behavior inherent in mobile communications. The need for evaluating new systems utilizing multielement antenna terminals in a more efficient and faster way has been a driving force for an extensive and multidimensional research area in our institute. In this paper we present a MEasurement based antenna test-bed (ME BAT) for the evaluation of multielement mobile terminal antenna systems. The method combines measured directional channel library and the radiation patterns of antennas under test (AUT).
