Abstract

A motor concept of a permanent magnet excited drive with external rotor, on which it is equipped with a spur ring gear, is shown. The requirements and boundary conditions are derived from a novel concept for a robotic joint actuator and generally very specific and challenging. The drive design is evaluated, regarding the application specific requirements using different models and FE simulations.
