Abstract

In this paper, we present a wideband dual polarized sinuous antenna with tapered microstrip balun feeds which can be used in airborne electronic warfare (EW) system for passive direction finding (DF) applications. The applicability of the proposed antenna has been proven by simulation with FDTD based CST Microwave Studio. Further experimental results of the designed antenna within 2-18GHz also demonstrate good agreements with electromagnetic simulation results.
