Abstract
Based on the POI data of kindergartens in the six districts of Xi’an City, this research mainly investigated the coupling relationship between the distribution of kindergartens and the daily life of residents by spatial analysis methods. Results show that: (1) there are “more kindergartens in the downtown areas while fewer in outskirts and these kindergartens are obviously distributed from northeast to southwest; (2) the spatial distribution of kindergartens is uneven. That is, Weiyang District has the most kindergartens, followed by Yanta District, and then the rest of the four districts; (3) The service scopes of kindergartens are overlapped, that is, the distance between the kindergartens and the service objects is less than 300m. In addition, some kindergartens are not reasonably located. (4) The number and distribution of kindergartens do not match the population density and birth rate, and the balance between supply and demand cannot be guaranteed.
