Abstract
A Bandwidth reservation is an essential component in providing of quality of service (QoS) in vehicular ad hoc networking (VANENTs). The recommended MAC protocol for VANET experiences a high percentage of packet loss. Somehow its performance can be improved by using Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) techniques. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for multi-constrained QoS routing and show how to enhance the guarantees for bandwidth reservation based on TDMA environment where the bandwidth is expressed in terms of the number of time slots. We introduce stability scheme to identify stable links based on the neighborhood availability information in several different normal and TDMA-based scenarios. Simulation results show a great promise for network improvement in TDMA-based scenario for packet delivery ratio with up to 64.5% increase compared to normal scenario. In terms of packet loss, TDMA-based scenario performs better with as much as 47.2% decrease compared to the normal scenario.
