Abstract

The US Army's Pulse Power Center's high-power-thyratron test facility was expanded to include the capability of evaluating switch performance at high repetition rates in either a pulse-forming network or a capacitor circuit. In addition to the existing 4 Omega network, an RLC circuit was installed. The facility was designed to test thyratrons at 55 A of average current for run times of 100 s.
