Performance Modeling of Worldwide Distributed IT Support System at Siemens IT Solutions and Services

Abstract

Large Information Technology service support system is planned to be deployed at Siemens IT Solutions and Services world wide. The heart of the system is a business process execution platform which organizes distributed services by means of business process modeling notation. This paper addresses performance aspects of this system: how components distribution affects system response time. Results demonstrate application of performance modeling and simulation approaches on early design stages with lack of initial data.
