Abstract

The modeling and simulation considering eddy current effect of a novel electromagnetic linear vibration actuator (ELVA) is presented in this paper. The proposed structure of ELVA contains a mover inserted with permanent magnets (PMs), a stator with axially wound coil and leaf springs fixed between them. Experiment shows the peak thrust force of ELVA decay nonlinearly as frequency going up. The mathematical model presented in this paper describes this behavior and fit the simulation outcome and experiment the results well, which is instructive to the design of ELVA and similar devices.
