Abstract

We introduce the concept of universal reconfigurable microwave photonic processor inspired on integrated waveguide meshes as opposed to the current application specific paradigm. We then explore the specific use of the hexagonal and square mesh topologies for the implementation of versatile and programmable optical cores for MWP processors.
