Abstract
OFDM, as a efficient modulation, has been chosen to improve performance of the multipath fading channel in troposcatter communication. However the drawbacks of conventional OFDM, such as bad localization in time and frequency, spectrum efficiency reduction and power loss due to insertion of CP, are not easy to undervalue. An alternative scheme, OQAM/OFDM modulation, is introduced into troposcatter communication system to overcome the mentioned limitations of OFDM and improve the performance of the system. In this paper, based on analysis of principle of OQAM/OFDM and properties of troposcatter channel, the SIR related to the symbol duration and channel factors has been analyzed. Based on the optimal symbol duration of different channels, the implementation of OQAM/OFDM utilized FFT/IFFT has been established. Performance comparisons are made in two kinds of typical troposcatter channels in simulation, and the results reveal that OQAM/OFDM has a superior performance than conventional OFDM in troposcatter communication.
