Abstract

A new image fusion method based on wavelet transform and edge keeping method is proposed in this paper in order to enhance the fusion efficiency and improve fusion accuracy. This algorithm deals with wavelet coefficients of low frequency and high frequency differently in light of their own properties, and obtains the final fused image by inverse wavelet transform. The experimental results of multi-focus images show that the proposed algorithm not only considers the full characteristics of wavelet transform and features of human vision system, but also improve spatial presentation and the computation efficiency.
