Abstract

In ImPACT Tough Robotics Challenge(TRC), field evaluations for several robots with different characteristics have been carried out with several “Tough” tasks aiming to R&D evaluation and social implementation of the robots. In this paper, we describe the development and safety management of the rubble field used in TRC field evaluation, where the safety management is based on international safety standards in order to consider several risk parameters in a systematic way. According to the experiences of the field evaluations, the lessons learned was summarized for further development of the field in future.
