Abstract
A novel stator geometry for linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) that improves the force profile is presented. In the new geometry, pole shoes are affixed to the stator poles. Static and dynamic characteristics for the proposed structure have been highlighted. Frequency spectrum analyses of force profile using the fast Fourier transform (FFT) are described to predict the vibration frequencies. Furthermore a prophecy method for finding the steady-state and transient thermal characteristics of the LSRM are presented.
