Abstract

A good WiFi network should have minimum number of access points covering maximum area. In this paper, we have shown how such a network of access points may be set up using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Access points are only placed on the walls in rooms for security reason. Loss of signal strength due to free space as well as walls has been taken into consideration. Simulation results also prove the correctness of the algorithm.
