Abstract

Tasks scheduling algorithms play a significant role in determining the performance of cloud computing. In this paper new method called tasks classification & Virtual Machines (VMs) categorization (TC & VC) can be applied in conjunction with any task scheduling algorithm to improve algorithms performance and increase its load fairness. Task classified based on their length, while VMs are categorized into the same number as tasks classification. In order to measure the performance achieved by this method, it will be applied on a set of simple scheduling algorithms, such as First Come First Service (FCFS), Shortest Job First (SJF), and Max-Min scheduling algorithms.
