Abstract

The major drawback of first sliding mode techniques is the chattering phnonmenon given by the discontinous term especially for the discrete time systems. In this paper and with a view to reduce this phenomenon, new second order sliding mode observer (2-SMO) is proposed. The synthesis of this observer is based on the linear matrix inequalities approach (LMIs). Simulation results verify the theoretic analysis and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed observer mainly in precision, speed convergence and reducing of the chattering phenomenon.
