Abstract

The performance of self oscillating (bang-bang) switching regulators is improved with nonlinear loop compensation. There are three major results: 1) Increased output regulation at mid to low frequencies without degrading transient response, 2) A simple method to maintain good control in the discontinuous conduction region, and 3) Simple analytical results predicting behavior for common non-idealities.
