Abstract

Due to the high data rates required for future communication networks, 5G and beyond, the level of antenna integration within the front-end of the communication terminal is becoming more sophisticated. In fact, for future networks (6G) it is envisaged that the antenna elements could be directly integrated with the photonic distribution network to ensure maximum efficiency and data throughput [1].
