3D Simulation of the Electric Field of Cap and PinInsulatorusingComsolMultiphysics

Abstract

Thedesignofhighvoltageinsulatorneedsanextensiveresearchonth edistributionsofelectricfieldandelectric potential. In this paper, a 3D model of the cap and pin1512L insulator was created with and without pollution withthe pollution having multiple values of relative permittivity tosee the impact it makes on these distributions. AutoCAD 2018software was used to model the insulator then later imported tothe software COMSOL Multiphysics 5.6 a software based onthefinite elementmethodtosimulate thiswork.
