Analysis of the Influence of the Loop Filter in the Phase Locked Loop on the Output Phase Noise

Abstract

This paper introduces phase-locked loop phase noise model, focusing on the phase-locked loop loop filter output phase noise. Through the frequency domain analysis of the linear loop model and the feedback control theory, the influence of the input reference and VCO on the output phase noise is discussed. The inhibitory effect of the loop on the input reference and VCO noise transfer is analyzed. The use of matlab to build a simulation model to verify the analysis of the results for the design of the frequency synthesizer is to provide design reference.
